Before anything, I like to mention that the 3500 calorie rule is only good for about 1-2 years. Eventually, your metabolism will slow or speed up depending on your goal and therefore have to find another way to lose or gain weight if you see yourself plateau. I am not saying that this rule is a bad rule, I am saying that this rule is a great place to start and it has helped me gain over 20 pounds of body weight. I encourage you to try this rule and stay strict on a daily basis on your macros and calories and you will see results.
